Information we collect
We collect personal information that you give us, and some information automatically when you use our website.
- Contact details, such as your name, company, phone number, email address and mailing address.
- Details of your enquiry or transaction, such as the units you are interested in, trade-in details and photos, service or storage requests, and quotes, invoices and agreements.
- Account and credit information for rental and lease customers, such as business details, references and the information needed to assess credit, with your consent.
- Equipment information, such as GPS location and mileage from our rental units (see our telematics notice).
- Website information, such as your device and browser type, pages visited and general location, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see our cookie policy).
We do not ask for your social insurance number or date of birth through this website, and we do not take payment card details online.
How we use it
We use personal information to:
- answer your questions and send the quotes and information you ask for;
- sell, rent, lease, service and store equipment, and manage your account;
- assess rental and lease applications and manage credit;
- locate and protect our rental equipment and bill for its use;
- keep our records and meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations;
- operate, secure and improve this website.
We do not sell your personal information.
Consent
By giving us your information, you consent to its use for the purpose it was given. We ask for your express consent where the law requires it, for example before a credit check.
You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions, by contacting our Privacy Officer. If you do, we may not be able to provide some services, such as a rental account.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only as needed for the purposes above:
- Service providers who work for us, such as website hosting, email, IT, rental management, GPS tracking and professional advisers. They may use the information only to provide their services to us and must protect it.
- Credit reporting agencies and your references, when you apply for an account and consent to a credit check.
- Financing partners, including our sister company Blue Capital Equipment Finance Ltd., only when you ask us to send them your details or follow a link to apply with them. They are separate companies with their own privacy policies.
- Insurers, legal advisers and collection agencies, when needed to manage claims or recover equipment or amounts owed.
- Authorities, when required or permitted by law, for example in response to a court order or to report a stolen unit.
- A buyer of our business, if we sell all or part of it, under a confidentiality agreement.
Storage outside Canada
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. Information held there may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of that country.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes it was collected for, or as long as the law requires, for example for tax and accounting records. We then securely destroy it or make it anonymous.
How we protect it
We use reasonable physical, organizational and technical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft and unauthorized access, use or disclosure. Access is limited to the people who need it for their work. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We send you messages about your enquiries, quotes, rentals and account. We send commercial electronic messages only in line with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and every such message lets you unsubscribe.

You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, how we have used it and who we have shared it with, and ask us to correct it. Send your request in writing to our Privacy Officer. We will respond within the time the law allows, usually 30 business days, and may need to confirm your identity first.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia (oipc.bc.ca).

Our website links to other websites, such as our sister company, manufacturers and Google. We are not responsible for their privacy practices; read their policies before you share information with them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The new version takes effect when it is posted here, with its effective date at the top of the page. If a change is significant, we will say so on this page.
