|---|---|

Method
How the total adds up
Everything the unit costs while you have it, less what you get back.
Financing
Your down payment plus every loan payment.
Fuel
A year of fuel times the years you keep it.
Running costs
Maintenance, insurance, tires and permits, every year.
Less resale
What it sells for at the end comes off the total.
Read it right
Compare units fairly
Per km
The cost per km or mile compares units with different prices and fuel use.
Short holds
Keep it for less than the loan term and the total assumes the loan is paid off from the sale.
What’s left out
GST/PST, lender fees and anything you don’t enter.
FAQ
Questions about the total
Where do the starting figures come from?
The price is an example, and so are the fuel, maintenance, insurance and resale figures: replace them with your own. They are not Mainland or industry figures.
Where does the starting rate come from?
It is our estimate rate, 9.5% a year as of 2 Oct 2026: a starting point, not a quote. Your actual rate depends on your business and credit profile, so change the rate field to try yours.
Is this an offer of credit?
No. It is an estimate only, not an offer of credit. Financing is subject to credit approval (OAC) through our sister company Blue Capital Equipment Finance Ltd., an affiliated broker, at the same Surrey yard. Your actual rate and payment depend on your business and credit profile.
Mainland Truck & Trailer Sales receives no referral fee from Blue Capital.
