Effective date: 7 October 2026 · Version 1.0
This page summarises the main terms that apply when you rent or lease a chassis, trailer or other equipment from Mainland Truck and Trailer Sales Ltd.. It is for general information only.
Your agreement governs
Every rental and lease is governed by the written agreement you sign with us: the Rental Agreement, the Rental Contract for each rental, and any schedules. Customers who signed our earlier Carrier Agreement (PDF) remain bound by it. If anything on this page differs from your signed agreement, the agreement applies.
Opening an account
New customers complete an application and are subject to credit approval. We may ask for business documents, references and proof of insurance before releasing equipment.
Quotes and rates
Rates are quoted to each customer in writing and depend on the equipment, the term, the quantity and other factors. Applicable taxes are extra. We do not publish rental rates.
Pickup, delivery and return
Equipment is inspected when it leaves and when it comes back, and the condition is recorded. Delivery may be available for an additional charge set out in your quote. Return the equipment on time, to the agreed location, in the same condition apart from normal wear and tear. If you need it longer, ask us before the return date.
Using the equipment
Use the equipment only for lawful purposes, within its rated capacity, in the areas your agreement allows, and only with properly licensed and qualified drivers. Do not alter the equipment, sublet it or let anyone else use it without our written permission.
Care, damage and breakdowns
Carry out the daily inspections the law requires and report any defect, damage, accident or theft to us right away. You are responsible for loss of or damage to the equipment while it is in your care, other than normal wear and tear. Call 604-501-2233 if you need help on the road.
Insurance
You must keep the insurance your agreement requires for as long as you have the equipment, and give us proof of it before pickup. See our insurance requirements.
Tickets, tolls and fines
You are responsible for all tickets, tolls, fines and charges incurred while you have the equipment.
GPS
GPS on every rental unit. We use it to locate and protect our equipment and to measure mileage. Read our telematics notice, and let your drivers know.
Payment and default
Invoices are payable when due, on the terms in your agreement. Late payment, breach of the agreement or misuse of the equipment may lead to charges, suspension of your account and recovery of the equipment, as set out in your agreement.
Changes to this summary
We may update this summary from time to time. The new version takes effect when it is posted here, with its effective date at the top of the page. If a change is significant, we will say so on this page.
